We haven't looked into that one yet. That doesn't mean it's wrong. Here is how to check it yourself in a few minutes:
- Search for the exact words in quotation marks, and look for the oldest copy you can find.
- Look for a source you can open: a book with a page, a dated speech, a letter, an interview with its date.
- If the only sources are quote websites and posts, treat it as unconfirmed.

Searches stay in your browser: nothing you type is sent to us or stored. Each verdict is our reading of the evidence, with the source beside it, so you can decide for yourself. How we check.
We add new checks most weeks. Subscribers hear first, and get our free cheat sheets and wallpapers.
